Lumberton TX Chamber of Commerce

Welcome Dr. White...enjoy your new adventure!!There will be a new face leading Lumberton High School this school year, Dr. John White will assume the position of High School Principal vacated by retired principal Darwin Davis. Dr. White comes to Lumberton from Bridge City ISD where he held the position of Middle School Principal and has been in education since 2008.
His past positions include English Teacher, Academy Coordinator, Assistant Principal and Dean of Instruction in both Houston ISD and Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. Dr. White’s highest degree earned is a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Sam Houston State University. He has two Masters of Education Degrees in both Secondary Education and Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin State University, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and English from the University of Texas.
Dr. White’s references describe him as:

• Organized and completes tasks
• A man of integrity – honest
• Persistent to achieve goals
• Trustworthy
• Fair
• Visionary leader, and
• Gives all students the opportunities for success
Dr. White brings an incredible background in curriculum and instruction, along with organizational leadership aligned with the positive academic direction we are heading in the district. He envisions “a successful learning environment is established by setting high but achievable expectations, clearly communicating and tracking measurable goals, actively collaborating with parents and educators, and leading by example. As Principal, I will cultivate a sense of community in which each individual feels safe, valued and included, and which equips teachers with the knowledge, skills and tools to educate and prepare students to graduate future-ready.”
Recently over spring break, Dr. White married his long-time girlfriend, Jade, a middle school math teacher in Port Arthur ISD. The Whites look forward to living and working in the Lumberton community.
